I am a paediatrician and paediatric cardiologist. My main post is at the HUS New Children's Hospital in Helsinki, where I treat children with heart conditions, work as a clinical teacher for medical students and conduct research. I have also worked on neonatal wards and as a child health clinic (neuvola) physician.
All children and adolescents aged 0–17 are welcome. I treat acute infections and other urgent problems as well as common paediatric issues, such as
- recurrent infections and ear infections
- abdominal pain and constipation
- rashes and asthma
- headache
- infant feeding, crying and growth
In addition, I do child health clinic (neuvola) check-ups and evaluate children's growth and development. As a paediatric cardiologist, I also assess heart murmurs, chest pain, fainting and palpitations, and refer for further investigations such as echocardiography when needed.
I have played football for many years and coach a junior team. Exercise-related symptoms and minor sports injuries in active children are therefore familiar to me.
