Urotherapy aims to help children with problems related to bedwetting or daytime incontinence, recurrent urinary infections, frequent urination, urinary retention and constipation and/or soiling. The therapy primarily helps the child – with regard to age – to understand and overcome such problems.
Urotherapy helps children of all ages, and, with regard to constipation, babies, too.
Urotherapy generally requires a paediatrician’s referral. There are one to four sessions. The duration of each session is 45 to 60 minutes.
Riitta Koppeli is a urotherapist working at Pikkujätti Kamppi and Anneli Saarikoski at Pikkujätti Itäkeskus.
