Oscillometry is a painless lung and asthma examination for all age groups, but especially small children. It can be performed on children from the age of 3 or 4. During the examination, the child is requested to breathe through a mouthpiece into an oscillometry device.

The examination is often combined with exercise stress test, and a medicine that affects breathing is given during the examination. The examination is performed by a nurse.

The attending physician writes a referral, and a statement of the research results is obtained from a clinical physiologist. The research results are reviewed together with the doctor who issued the referral.
